Tangiers - The Family Myth
This track and Dragging the Harbor are both pretty good, but overall, the cd's a bit underwhelming. Meh, stick to Thunderbirds Are Now.

Georgie James, the new project of ex-Q & Not U drummer John Davis and D.C. songwriter Laura Burhenn, recently posted some mp3s of their impending first release, Demos at Dance Place, on their myspace page. The songs are decidedly more straightforward than those on Ris Paul Ric's effects-laden Purple Blaze, and could largely be classified as traditional pop-rock. Take from that what you will, but it's not a bad thing at all. "Need Your Needs," in particular, is quite catchy, although I'm probably just saying that because it sounds the most like Q & Not U's material- old habits die hard. Other than that, however, I'm still most eager to see what Harris Klahr does with his electronic project President, especially after his "Wonderful People" remix earlier this fall.

Panda Bear - Comfy in Nautica

Sounds: Good, but more specifically, like Brian Wilson leading a huge march through an empty city while Formula 1 cars weave in and out of the procession.

Someone Still Loves You Boris Yeltsin - What We'll Do

I'm 1 paper and about 24 hours away from 9 days of freedom, but the paper in question is a bitch....so get back to me tonight, it promises to be a long one.

Although I still have about a week to go until I schedule, it already looks like I'll be hating life come spring, what with the stats, econ, IR, and such, but all would be forgiven if I got into Music and Computers. Admittedly, it's pretty damn unlikely I'll fill one of the 20-odd spots, but there really can't be that many U.Va kids clamoring to get acquainted with synths, can there?

Luckily, I don't think they're native to Virginia.
Well, I'm now in the middle of my fortnight of no exams or papers, so the weekend was a quiet affair, and I didn't make it out of the apartment much- yesterday it was a conscious decision, but on Friday night, who really knows. Other than that, I've just been biding my time, picking out classes for next semester, while my mind is blown at the fact that this one's almost over.

It's no Clone High theme, but I'll take it.

Death From Above 1979 - Black History Month (Girl On Girl Featuring Final Fantasy Revision)

Probably my favorite remix on Romance Bloody Romance besides Josh Homme's- the subdued tracks seem to be grabbing my attention more than the other ones so far.
