This track and Dragging the Harbor are both pretty good, but overall, the cd's a bit underwhelming. Meh, stick to Thunderbirds Are Now.
Georgie James, the new project of ex-Q & Not U drummer John Davis and D.C. songwriter Laura Burhenn, recently posted some mp3s of their impending first release,
Demos at Dance Place, on their
myspace page. The songs are decidedly more straightforward than those on Ris Paul Ric's effects-laden
Purple Blaze, and could largely be classified as traditional pop-rock. Take from that what you will, but it's not a bad thing at all. "Need Your Needs," in particular, is quite catchy, although I'm probably just saying that because it sounds the most like Q & Not U's material- old habits die hard. Other than that, however, I'm still most eager to see what Harris Klahr does with his electronic project President, especially after his "Wonderful People" remix earlier this fall.
